Massage therapy is a therapeutic process that involves a partnership between the client and therapist working towards common and realistic goals. While many individuals may offer "massage," it is important to seek out a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) for proper massage therapy. An RMT is an individual who has completed a diploma program at a recognized school of massage therapy and passed a registration examination offered by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. When looking for a qualified practitioner, look for someone who uses the title of Massage Therapist (MT) or Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and ensure that they are a member in good standing with the CMTO.
